A new decision published in the Official Gazette
dated January 18, 2024 officially defines the
concept of ‘mobile homes.’ According to the
decision, mobile homes are officially recognized
as vehicles with O2 class type approval
certificates, designed as accommodation units,
capable of being towed by a motorized vehicle,
and subject to the provisions of the Traffic Law
No. 2918.
Another noteworthy change introduced by the
decision is that tourism investment certificates
will no longer be issued for mobile homes.
Mobile Home Facilities
Facilities accommodating mobile homes are
designated to be located in areas zoned for
camping or rural/eco-tourism in urban plans,
containing a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 49
accommodation units. Allocated public
immovables are excluded from this scope
Mobile Home Definition
Vehicles subject to the Traffic Law, designed in
the form of trailers or towed caravans, with living
space, bed, and bathroom-toilet facilities, are
considered mobile homes.
Facility Capacity
Facilities can contain a minimum of 5 and a
maximum of 49 mobile homes. A 250-squaremeter area must be allocated for each
accommodation unit.
Accommodation Units
Accommodation units are arranged to receive
natural light and are designed for two people.
Basic necessities such as bed, pillow, sheets,
minibar, socket, trash bin, and curtain are
provided. Bathrooms include fixtures, faucets,
shower, mirror, soap, shampoo, and towels
Restaurant Capacity
The total capacity of units such as restaurants,
cafeterias, and bars in facilities cannot exceed
100 people.
Mobility
Arrangements that eliminate the mobility of
accommodation units cannot be made.
Legal Documents
The application for a tourism business license
requires the submission of a registration
certificate and a valid technical inspection
certificate.
Existing Facilities
The regulation also covers mobile home facilities
that are currently in operation.
